OK, here is a crazy phenomenon I’ve never seen before: I was only on the Welcome screen moving my mouse around. Suddenly, when I moused over the bookmark bar (I did not click at all), it would “pick up” one of the icons as if I’d clicked and dragged it, and whenever I moved the pointer, a ghost image of that object would flicker and travel with the movement of the pointer. If I moved it back onto the bookmark bar, the folder icons would re-arrange themselves whenever I moved the mouse. At some point individual folder icons would just disappear, as if I’d removed them. I could not get rid of the flickering ghost image by clicking in an attempt to “paste” it.
When I opened a bookmark folder and clicked the View button and then “Restore Defaults,” the folder icons that had disappeared then re-appeared in that bookmark folder (not on the bookmark bar). I can move them back onto the bookmark bar… but now the folders don’t even open when you click on them; you have to right-click them and select “Open Folder.” Ditto for opening Designer.
I closed Notes and re-opened, but nothing changed. I deleted Cache.NDK but no change. What else?? I can’t use Notes like this, as I don’t do anything to elicit this behavior; it just starts randomly. It affects views, too - if I am simply moving the mouse around, suddenly it grabs a column header, and then it drops it wherever it feels like it when I move the mouse.
I am swamped with work right now and can’t afford this downtime! Suggestions??
TIA
Mark
