Is it possible to do the equivalent of “Show single category” of Embedded view in the ordinary view.
That is, In view, I want to display the documents with corresponding to the particular category.

Is it possible to filter the view with corresponding to the particular category by giving the URL in the address bar.
That is, when i give the URL for the view in the Address Bar, the view should be displayed according to the particular category alone.

Depends on what you need.
As long as you know the “single Category” value, you should be able to do it.
Be careful and check the online docs. There are some dynamic formula pieces which you can’t use in a view selection formula. The online help is quite explicit about it.
