Here is the problem. If I create a multi column table in hard coded HTML or using domino tables, and set them to fit with margins, or with the window (need liquid screens to cant set hard measurement) to all be of equal length…
The first rendered column on the screen output when physically measured on the computer monitor screen is always larger than the other columns to the right of it. (When doing 2 or 3 equal columns…)
In a 2 or 3 column layout this is 1/2 CM discrepancy (about 1/2 the size of a females index fingernail in width) - on screen thats unacceptable.
When I move to a 5 column table the first, second, and fifth columns are of equal size, with the 2 in the middle being smaller, on the monitor screen.
I have hand coded in HTML td width=50% and used domino generated tables. I have aligned them one above the other on the form using both method and they produce exactly the same output on the monitor.
No indents, they start at the far left of the page (0 offset etc.) and i have manually set all page margins to 0 using passthru html.
The domino source code rendered for each method is 100% correct, but what is rendered is not!
HERE IS THE ASTOUNDING PART!!!
When I PRINT the tables onto PAPER and measure them, they are all, you quessed it, perfectly equal as they should be.
I am wondering if this is a BUG in my environment only…can if anyone can confirm this…
The server is on build 6.5.4 no service packs FPs etc.
PS. I also rendered the web page on another persons monitor and they had the same results, columns not being equal on the screen.
