Hi all !!! Here is the history…
I have a user who has a local archive db of it’s mail database.
His password has been expired, he was trying to change it when the notes client crash. The problem is that the password has change but its not what he type !!!, he could not use its id.
We have create a new id for him (same user), but now he has the problem that he can’t access its archive database.
How can we decrypt its archive database ? He have set the “old” password to the new id and still can’t open the archive.
Any ideas ???
Thanks !!!
Subject: Do not re-create id files
It appears unusual that these circumstance resulted in this problem. This is the reason why the recreation of ID files should not be used unless you have alternates set-up.You can find the older copies of the ID, if you do not have file based backups, in your escrow ID database (assuming that you have one setup). Search on the users name and you will find a list of history ID files, but the format will require that you follow the recover password process. Use this ID file to create a new replica, without encryption, of the users archive database.
For the future, consider archiving on your domino server, the user can still replicate this onto local drive.
Best of luck and patience.
