Enabling mail after for user that did not have it

What is the proper way to enable a user with mail that did not have it. We have a customer (actually a few) that originally bought Domino strictly as an application server. They created all of their users without mail files or mail capability (read license). They are now wanting to allow the users to use mail. So, they have the license but, what is the best/proper way to enable the users and establish mail databases?

Is it simply creating a mail database on the server? Are there other “pieces” from a user/client perspective that need to be put in place? Is there an Admin function the will do this?

Thanks,

“Is it simply creating a mail database on the server?”

No. After manually creating the mailfile and granting the user access in the ACL, you will have to go into the mailfile preferences and set the user to be the mailfile Owner. You will also need to edit each person document and all appropriate location documents to point at the home server and mailfile.

“Is there an Admin function the will do this?”

No.
