Enable DB2 now my server won't start

I’m new to Lotus server… but I have been able to install and run through some tutorials. Yesterday I enabled DB2 and now my server won’t start. I have looked through the logs and I think this is the error the I get: INFO (0): Already attached to process [nsenddiag: 14e0]ERROR (4): can’t attach to process [nsenddiag: 14e0] - (5) Access is denied.

This is the console.log:

  1. Can anyone suggest how I can disable DB2 so I can start the server? It seems that if the server won’t start you can’t administer it…

  2. I suspect the error is related to the user account that I specified for DB2. Has anyone seen this error before?

Subject: Transaction logging?

Did you have transaction logging enabled and working before you attempted to enable DB2? The errors you posted look more like they have something to do with the Domino transaction log. Possibly the directory you specified for the transaction logs to be kept is invalid, or there is a file permission problem in that location.

Check your notes.ini for:

TRANSLOG_Path=logdir

…and verify that the location specified exists and is writeable by the account that the Domino server runs as. If the path is not absolute, it’s assumed to be relative to the Domino data directory.

If you want to manually disable DB2, you can comment out all of the lines in the server’s notes.ini file that start with DB2 by putting a semicolon in front of them. Ex:

;DB2INIT=
