Enable Archiving for Both - Client Archiving and Server Archiving

Hello

To ensure that we have compliancy on all our mailfiles, we want to use the “Clean up” part of the Archiving Policy where it only Deletes (Clean-up) the archived email. We are NOT interested in Archiving any emails - just deleting them from all replicas!

It appears that only 1 Archive Policies can be applied to a Mailfile.

I have tried to applied Client Side Archiving explicitly to a user and then assign the Server side Archiving to that OU - only 1 would apply.

When I try to run Compact -A on that mailfile from the Domino Console - I get:

Error archiving documents from mail\user.nsf: Server-based archiving not enabled on database.

I was hoping that if I assigned Client Side Archiving via the Policies and just be able to run Compact -A Nightly to ensure that the Server’s replicas are also compliant.

I realize that Delete Docs will replicate Deletion Stub to the local replicas however, there are several circumstances where this would not occur so, we are just trying to enforce on both replicas - simultaneously.

Has anyone:

Found a server variable that would tell Domino/Compact to honor/execute the Archiving settings on the Server replicas and ignore that they are for Client side Archiving?

Adjusted the Mailfile Design to allow Compact -A to maintain both the local and server replica

Found a way that 2 Archiving Policies can be assigned to 1 mailfile?

Pushed out and keep the Compact Program doc on the Notes Client enabled/scheduled - even when Client Side Archiving is not in place?

Any other ideas?

Thanks in Advance!

Brad
