Recently received an email from a Microsoft employee. Rather than the graphics being rendered, it contained an image001.emz file attachment. A Notes client & template (v8.5 FP1) views the image (via right-click, view) but would not display it in the message body. Just a red X shows where it would be. If the message was forwarded, the client decompresses the attachment and puts it in the body of the forwarded document.
iNotes 8.5 Full (using IE7) treated it as an attachment also.
What are the plans to support this new image format?
Below is basic info about EMZ:
Files with an .EMZ extension are compressed (zipped) EMF formatted image files. This format was created by Microsoft to be used in their programs such as Microsoft Word and Visio.
The EMZ format is identical to Microsoft’s EMF format (Enhanced MetaFile) except that is uses GZIP compression. If you simply wish to decompress these files, you’ll need a GZIP compatible decompression utility (such as GZIP itself).
