I’ve got some database views or framesets configured as widgets for direct access in the sidebar. Often after restarting Notes they’re shown empty:
When I re-open them via “My Widgets” they work fine.
This happened in 8.0.1 also. But now I cannot close those widgets anymore. That close menu item doesn’t work:

I sometimes see this briefly while waiting for the database view to open, but then the view will display in the sidepanel. If you wait, will the views in the sidepanel finally refresh? how quickly do the views open when accessing from My Widgets panel?
To close them, try de-selecting the ‘Contribute to sidebar on startup’ checkbox in the component’s properties dialog.
(in the My Widgets panel, select the component, right-click and then select Component properties)
this should close the view instances that were opened in the sidepanel
would you mind providing the trace-logs? (found in C:<program_dir>\data\workspace\logs)

Subject: Correction: can reproduce partially now
When I switch to another location which uses another user id with no access to the widgets data and then switch back to my usual location, the widgets stay grey and don’t refresh.
At least I can close und successfully reopen them.

While this had happened reproducable when I first wrote the feedback, it didn’t happen again since I started over by deleting the workspace folder from my data directory.

No, they didn’t. Sometimes they even stayed grey when I opened the same widgets from My Widgets again.
