Embedded Web Browser

Hi,

I have a form that contains a text field. This field is used for an ID number which we can use to lookup the status of our goods at our suppliers.

The lookup is done on the internet where we on the supplier’s website enter the number and then get the result. Not so long ago I got tired of entering numbers and made a button that runs a Lotus Script which creates the URL (incl. ID etc.) needed for the lookup and start the browser via an OpenURL.

Now I had the idea of having an embedded browser on the form and have the browser show me the data without me having to enter numbers or press any buttons. IMHO a good idea, but I need help to make it all work.

I’ve used the “Create – Object – Control – Microsoft Web Browser (control)” to add the browser on my form, but it only is visible on the form when the document is in Edit-mode. How do I make it visible in Read mode and hidden in Edit mode?

Where do I enter the script that creates the URL I want the embedded browser to open? To make it work now I’ve used the code from my button and it does open the URL in the embedded browser. It also opens a “Notes Web Browsing with IE” which I don’t want!

Can anybody give me a few tips/ideas on the above?

Thanks!
