Embedded Views

Hi Guys

Here is my problem.

I have a Field Called ‘HardwareNo’ and embedded view based on this form which updates itself with information supplied by my HardwareNo.

So every time I open a new hardware log I can see previous logs made against this piece of Hardware. The good thing is this works fine. In the view, under the Column ‘HardwareNo’ I added the formula @If(Form = “Problem”; HardwareNo;“”).

But now, I want another embedded view as I am expanding the forms functionality to include personally problems. So I copied the view as before and change a few columns around, update formulas, but it won’t work, no matter what I try it will not work, if I change the formula in the column to match @If(Form = “Problem”; HardwareNo;“”), it will show all the previous docs for the Hardware.

The new formula I am using is @If(Form = “Problem”; PUser;“”)

Sorry if I have gone on a bit, but please send me some suggestions

Thanks

Dan

Subject: Embedded Views

Danny, I don’t fully understand what you’re trying to do but keep this in mind when using embedded views:

The first column in your embedded view should be sorted and categorized.

The string in the first column should match the string of a value on the current form. All documents matching that string will appear.

Remmeber, the SELECTION formula of your view will also dtermine what documents will/will not be displayed in the embedded view.

Also, make sure if you’re using “show single category” that the correct value is in there (had that problem before).
