In my web Application, there is a form which contains an embedded view and two dropdown list .Based on the selection in dropdowns, i m setting the value of ShowSingleCategory property of Embedded view.
The view assigned to Embedded view contains twistie on the first column.
when i click on the Twistie, the form gets refreshed and the embedded view is shown empty.
I want that the form should not get refreshed by clicking twistie.
Subject: Embedded view’s Refreshing Problem & another
I’m having similar issues in 6.5.4. Are you setting the embedded view to display as a java applet or as HTML? When it is displayed as HTML the twisties are links which specify query string variables telling the server which category to expand/collapse. So I think that preventing a refresh would not be possible in HTML view.
I have tried multiple dropdown selections to narrow a view and found it not possible in 6.5.4 because the show single category property will take only one argument. What I have done to circumvent this is to create multiple views and set the embedded views Embedded Selection property to switch between the views.
The issue I’m having is that when a single category is selected to be shown, the query data being sent in the expand or collapse name/value pair is wrong.
ie; if the single category to be shown is category 2, the twisty to expand its first sub category is “expand=1”. However, this is wrong because it is actually supposed to open category 2 subcategory 1, so it should be “expand=2.1”.
This makes navigation of subcategories impossible when the view is narrowed by selecting a single category.
I’m gonna create a post for this topic in a short while, but since it is so similar, I thought I’d mention it here.
Cheers,
