Hi All

On my main form I have an embedded view called Items, this allows you to see all items that are associated with the main form, the embedded view is based on a single category view associated with the field ID number on the main form. So when you double click on an item in the embedded view you get the items detail form displayed, this form has lots of information. The users have asked that two fields be present on the main form, one is cost and the other is purchase order, what they would like is when you click on one of the items in the embedded view, it displays the Cost and Purchase Order from that particular Item form on the corresponding fields on the main form. This is to save them time instead of having to go into each Item form in the embedded view. (I had included these on the embeded view, but they also want to perform a calculation on the main form from the information in the view).

So how do I get fields on my main form to associate with the selected record in my embedded view?

You can try getting the handle to uidoc from “QueryOpenDocument” of the embedded view and when you open the dialog box with display information, you can do calculations and pass edits to the uidoc from the dialog box.

Thanks for the replys, but I need the information passed directly to the fileds on the main form on a click event in the embedded view, as the main form will do calculations bases on the information passed to it, embedded editors will only allow me to view and edit the form quickly but it wont pass the information on the form. Thanks for the help though…

Hmmm if I am allowed to mention it am trying to get the same functionality out of notes that I could get with Access with embedded dataviews.
