Embedded Sametime not popping up when someone initiates a chat with them

We have a user with the Notes 8.5.1 client (since upgraded to 8.5.2) with embedded Sametime. They can log in successfully and have full presence awareness. They can even initiate a chat with someone else, but when someone tries to initiate a chat with the user, it never shows up on the user’s screen. They don’t realize someone is trying to chat with them. The window does, however, popup if they are logged into iNotes with embedded Sametime.

I have reset the Sametime preferences to default, uninstalled the Notes client, deleted all Lotus folders from the hard drive, cleared out all Windows registry entries related to Notes and Sametime, upgraded to Notes 8.5.2 client and completely reconfigured their Notes client from scratch. The Sametime window still does not pop up.

Any suggestions?

File–>preferences–>select chat window in the left hand side list → select “set notification style” link present at the lower(lowest) side → select “one to one chat” from the list → tick the “bring chat window to front” button.
