Embedded Object: Display as Icon: Doesn't work

When creating an object from a file in a RT-field, I choose ‘From a file’ and select a file from the file system. I select ‘Display as Icon’.For a lot of file-types there is no icon assigned.

When I click on the Change-button, the current and default icons are blank and a list of icons is shown in the “from file”-field. I select the “from file”-option and an icon, but when the OK-button is pushed, no icon is displayed.

For the file types having a current icon, it is also impossible to change the icon to an icon from the ‘from file’-list.

I’ve tried it with

  • MS Excel: no current/default icon; icon can’t be changed

  • MS Word: no current/default icon; icon can’t be changed

  • MS Visio: current icon available; icon can’t be changed

  • JPG: no current/default icon; icon can’t be changed

  • BMP: current icon available; icon can’t be changed

  • BAT: current icon available; icon can’t be changed

Can someone tell me what’s the problem?

We experience the same problem. I create an object from an Excel file, and it is not possible to link up any “normal” Excel icons. However, the icons that are not very “Excel-like” function OK, believe it or not ! Our software, Domino server 7.01 on System i5, Lotus Domino client 7.01 on Windows XP SP2, Office 2003 Professional. Can somebody help ? It is quite unprofessional to present iconless objects within our organization.
