Hi there
OS : Windows 7 (Client)
Server : Domino 8.5.3 FP 5
Recently we noticed a problem in our system Since 14th April.
A Single user is unable to receive any e-mail sent to public groups (Local/Internal).
On further checks and after the following tests:
-Have Removed user and re-added user to the Public Group
-Expanded Public Group List while sending an outgoing e-mail to public group where I dont see the Users details, but it does exist within the groups document.
-Created a new group with “USER” in it and few more users as well (Group Type : MultiPurpose) and user receives emails from the new public group
-Problem is noticed only with existing Public Groups where this user does not receive any e-mail sent to that group even though the name exists in the list.
-Tried “Trace Entire Path” mail and that particular user doesnt show in the returned email traced
All your response are appreciated.
Subject: Could it be a recent contact issue?
Is it possible that the issue is with stale information locally on the Client machine. With recent contacts it is possible for groups info to be outdated. Check the recent contacts and local contacts of the users to see if this group is listed without the user in question.
Subject: Local Adress Books… Checked!
Hi there
When checking local addressbooks :
I have checked local addressbooks of senders and the recipient
And only this one user has the problem of not receiving mails that are sent to the Public Group.
Local Address books do not have any details mentioned as you have said, its all clean.
I have also Clicked the “To: Recipients” link while sending a test mail to an existing small public group and selected that public group through the Address Picker from the server addressbook and not local and have noticed that this problem still exists where on Expanding the Public Group names the user that is facing the problem does not show up in the expanded list where as when I open the Domino Admin-Groups List to verify if the users details is present, and the user details is there- I have also removed the user and re added the user using the NAB Picker to select that particular users details to be added.
For testing I created a new public group added the username into the new public group using the NAB Picker and for some reason that works, its only with our older exiting address books where the names exist but for some reason does not show up when expanding the list in the older existing Public Group compared to my discovery in a new test Public Group, I have tried adding that test Public Group as a subgroup to the initial parent Public Group, but still does not work.
I have re installed lotus notes as well for the user checked all names to verify the difference if any.
Subject: …Address Issue fixed
There was a name conflict where 2 users have a similar name / email id in the alternate names of their person document.
on removing this common name from one user
The problem has been resolved!
