I have a user who states that when he is working remotely and moves emails from the inbox to folders, when he returns the emails are not in the folders but back in his inbox. He is working on the server copy of his mail file. He has a blackberry and also uses his iphone. No clustering. Just one mail server. Any ideas on how to stop this from happening?

This appears to be an issue caused by BES 5.0. Here is a link to the technote or search SDR370522 on Blackberry.com
Subject: BES Access
Do you know for sure that the users ACL is set to allow the BES server access to make the changes to the users mail file. We have over looked that in the past.
Subject: Bes Access
Yes, the users ACL has access to make changes to the server copy of the mail file. Should they not? I always thought that the BES server ACL access was suppose to be set to Editor.
Subject: Need More Detailed Steps to reproduce
I need more detailed steps to reproduce. For example:
Opened mail via blackberry.
Selected mail document and moved to folder x.
Synched blackberry with PC and/or use BES server?
Came into office and started Notes Client on Windows/Mac/Linux.
Opened server based mail file via Notes Client and document was not in folder x.
Subject: Re: More detailed Steps to reproduce
I will do my best to ans. your questions. The users checks both his blackberry, his iphone and his laptop when he is out of town. He is indicating that he moves the items to his mail file on his laptop to folders when he is out of town. He checks his blackberry again or his iphone and when he comes into the office and connects to our network, his mail (on Notes Client and devices) that he moved to folders is now in the inbox again.

hellodelete the server copy and shut the notes down.
rename the cache.ndk file from the lotus notes data folder.
if possible clear the pc’s temp folder.
open the server copy and try moving the mails into the folder.
