Emails missing in inbox and all documents

I have been facing this issue that the emails from a certain date until the current date go missing from my inbox and all documents in the Lotus client. Also new mail does not appear in the inbox. However, when I access email through the web I am able to view all the emails and receive new mails as well. I have checked the setting for “Unread mail” only also and this is unchecked. I am running Lotus notes 8.0.2 on Windows 7. I uninstalled the client and installed it again and noticed that the inbox got replicated with all the emails. However when the laptop is left idle for a while, the above problem occurs.

If anyone has any idea, please let me know.
