Emails - From address - internet format?

We send external emails via an ISP and we are now moving to another ISP.

We just found out that the original ISP were modifying the out-bound email’s “From” address - from Lotus Notes internal format into internet format (ie “Richard Civil/TheCompany” to “Richard.Civl@theCompany.com”).

Our new ISP are not in position to amend the out-bound email’s “From” address.

Where do I configure the server to do the translation of the From address into internet address format?

Subject: I would try this… RFC822 is the format

Go to your Config Doc for the server(s)Click the MIME tab

then Advanced tab and Advance Outbound Messaging Options

Then… in the field below… change it to which ever fits you

RFC822 phrase handling: Use CN as phrase

Subject: Domain Documents

You need to configure a Global Domain document in the Domino Directory

One way to do this is to make sure you have filled in the “Internet Address” field on each user’s person document. That lets you specifically map each user to whatever email address you want to use.

That shoould be propagated to the user’s “Location” document in their local names.nsf shortly after they connect to Notes.

Note: it is possible for users to edit the location document in their local names.nsf database on their clients and change the “Internet mail address” on the Basics tab–but that should be overwritten eventually when the client syncs up with the server.
