Email Subject not showing in Inbox of some mail files

Hello all,

We are having some issues with email subject. We recently migrated our Domino server from Windows to Linux.

We have observed that some mail files do not display the email subjects for all the mails in the Inbox folder, however when each of the mails is opened the subject will appear in mail document.

Further investigation revealed that in the All Documents view, the Email Subject displays fine and in the Sent view the Date appears under the Subject column. On trying to see if we can resolve the issue, we refreshed the design of one of the affected mail files, but the problem was not solved, we equally replaced the design to no avail.

However, when we opened one of the affected mail files in Designer and opened and saved the Inbox Folder the issue was resolved and the subjects appeared. We tried this on a few more mail files having similar problem and they were ok afterwards.

This is quite unusual and there are many files affected that we have not identified yet, we only get to know when users call to complain.

Kindly assist on how we can fix this problem.

If you file the document to another folder does the problem follow the document?

Subject: The subjects display in the All Documents View

It’s really stange to me, the subjects apear in the All documents view.

I don’t have any idea what could be the reason. Please kindly assist

Subject: Template

Check the template. Replace the design of a ‘fixed’ mail file (using the template the mail files are based on. not just a copy, but the actual template that is being used) and see if the problem comes back.
