Email still use old name after rename last name

After I rename the last name and process the AdminP, the user still send email using his old name. Therefore, the receiver can’t reply his email. What should I do to make it work properly? Many thanks!

What is the first entry in Full name field of user’s person document? Does the name change reflect there, as of now?

Does the user use a local address book with his own entry in it?

Also check if user’s location document (in his Notes client), lookup address exhaustively in all servers, not just on local machine.

If that too doesn’t work, check what’s the name stored within user’s ID file. It can be seen in the login prompt. If the ID file isn’t updated, give him a new ID file from server - the one which is updated by AdminP process.

Brain,

How to reauthenticate to the server?

Byju,

The first entry in Full name is the new name.

The address shows the new name, but the receiver replies his email is using the old name.

The id file in the sever is in old name.

Please suggest how to fix the problem. Many thanks!

Connie

So the problem is not with user whose name is changed, but it’s with persons replying to his emails, right?

When others reply the email address (or Name) is first looked up on their local machine and then on Domino server address book. It could be the entry in local address book is not in sync with server.

A quick fix would be add his old name also into Full name field on person document (in server names.nsf). Keep the new name as first entry, old name as entry.

Have the user restart Notes. Reauthenticating to the server should update the local ID and name.
