I have my email set to always save the document that I am sending, and I have traced through the code to see that it is supposedly saving it…but when I look at my sent folder, it is not there. Anyone have any ideas about this?
SaveOptions can be 1 or 0 Use 1 to save mailed documents. Use 0 so that the document is not saved when mailed. prevent the document from being saved. You might have this set to 0.
It is…but I have traced through the code, and it is setting the SaveOptions field correctly. When I look at the code, it does set SaveOptions to “1” if it is automatically saved or if saved when asked, yet it does not save the document. Below is the code I am using…any suggestions?
doc.ActionInProgress = MEMO_SEND
Continue = True
Call uidoc.FieldSetText(“useApplet”, “True”)
Call cMemoObject.QuerySave(Continue) '<–does the setting of Save Options
Yes…there is a field on the form called saveOptions. In the coreEmailClasses code, it does set that field to “1”…up until and through the close code, it does keep that value. I do not see it losing that value at all. It just does not save a copy of it despite the fact that SaveOptions is set to “1”.
Sometimes he cannot see his sent mails, and he also get ‘Object variable not set’ error message when trying to send mail. Not always, so it is all intermittent, and it will escalate during the day, as he doesn’t have any issues in the morning. The new fun thing he reported is ‘Cannot find external name: CMEMOOBJECT’, when trying to read a memo. I have tried to delete the Sent and Draft view (draft because at one point he couldn’t send mail that was saved in the Drafts view). This solved the until next afternoon. I have also tried to delete bookmarks.nsf and but this didn’t change the situation. It should also be mentioned that I have tried with the user’s mail file on my workstation and cannot reproduce his problem. Therefore I suspect that it is some problem with the desktop.dsk. I plan to delete and create a new one, but like to know if anyone has any other ideas?
Subject: Email set to always save document, but it does not save
Can you find it in All Documents? If so, it’s probably getting an exclude from view value that keeps it out of Sent. If not, well, it’s not getting saved.
Subject: RE: Email set to always save document, but it does not save
It is not in the all documents view…so that is definitely my problem…it is not being saved. Like I said…the trace through the code shows that the MEMO_ALWAYSSAVE code is running. However, it does not save. I am looking for possible causes to this (please note, even if I have the preference on Always Prompt on send), when I say yes…it does not save either…the code to do this is base…so is there anything I can check to see if something is missing?
