Email lookup issues since upgrade to 8.5.x

Hello,

We have a bit of a problem we’ve noticed regarding external emails since upgrading domino to 8.5.1 and our clients to 8.5.1 (FP3).

We have entries for our customers in our NAB so that they can access some of our databases we want them to have access to online. They also have internet emails entered on these records so we can do some email lookups with lotus script at various automated stages. So the only information in a customers person document is: First name, surname, username, internet password, interent email address and company name.

The problem we have on some of our users clients is that if they were to type the customers email address (i.e. John.Doe@GoogleMail.com) and then they press comma or enter to add the next email address, it converts the address to their username (i.e. John Doe) as it’s found their entry in our NAB. Then when the staff member sends that email they get a delivery failure message: “Recipient’s Domino Directory entry does not specify a valid Notes mail file”.

The customers person document is also flagged as ‘other internet mail’ as the mail type. So even though we’re saying it’s not a notes mail type, it’s still thinking they are one. Is there something we’re not doing correctly?

Failing that, is there anyway to stop John.Doe@googlemail.com being translated to “John Doe” in the new email form (bearing in mind we can’t change the usernames in the server address books as we need those to remain as they are in order to give the customers access to the databases online)?

As always, I asppreciate anyone’s time and thanks in advance.
