Email Identity

Hi, I am using Lotus Notes to send and receive internet email. When I send email, the recipient is seeing my email address and I want them to see my name instead. Does anybody know how I can change it so that when somebody gets a mail from me the “From” is shown as Chris Cannon instead of “chris@mydomain.co.uk” ?

Chris,

Have you verified that in the configuration document for your server, in MIME->Advanced->Advanced Outbound Message Options, you enabled RFC822 phrase handling? If not, try enabling it to use the CN as the phrase.

Jim, Thanks for responding. I’m not a Notes expert I’m afraid. I don’t use a server, I am only using Notes to send and receive email across the internet through an external server provided by a hosting service. When I went into File>Security>User Security>Mail I got an error saying Home server could not be contacted so I’m not sure I can do much down that route in terms of the Configuration document. I was hoping there would be somewhere within Notes where I could set the identity as Chris Cannon so when people receive mail from me in their inbox it shows as Chris Cannon rather than chris@mycompany.co.uk.
