It seems that when you delete email under 6.0.1 (iNotes template, but deleting in the Notes client), it is actually processing the entire document. That is, it should be doing a quick ‘move to folder’ on the server, but it appears to be pulling down the whole thing to the client because of the time involved.
If so, this makes soft-deletes under any but a high speed connection useless, since you have to wait forever for the ‘delete’; this is supposed to be client-server, no? Under dialup use (50+K), this really is bad.
Anyone have ideas? Thanks!

More on this… if no one else has experienced this, we are investigating the possibility it’s antivirus software related, and will post the results.

It is the NAV/SAV antivirus software. Here’s the fix for them: Turn off local ‘Lotus Notes Realtime Protection’ (in the Configure menu choice). No harm to antivirus security will be felt, since (I assume these are the case for you!) (1) Filesystem Realtime Protection is still on to protect against bad attachments being detached, and the like, and (2) the server is running NAV/SAV for Domino to scan emails and attachments.
Note that this problem appears to have been present at dialup speeds for R5, but appears even for broadband speeds with ND6!

Thanks for posting this - we are experiencing the exact same problem and we also have SAV running. I am going to try your solution and see what happens.
This is why the forum works!
