For some reason, when I send an email to personsname@oneofourinternaldomains.com, the message gets routed externally to one of our client’s email addresses.
One of our internal domains we receive email at is c-gconsulting.com. If I send an email to a specific name@c-gconsulting.com, I watch the Router and it delivers it to one of our client’s email accounts. HOW do I track why this is happening? What are all the places I can check to find out why?
Thank you for your help!

Subject: Email being delivered externally incorrectly
Just wanted to add a followup, that when I send the email to the name@c-gconsulting.com the console immediately shows:
03/15/2004 02:23:02 PM Router: Message 006FF55F forwarded to personsname@clientdomain.com
The key word there is ‘forwarded.’ How is this getting forwarded?
Thanks!
Michael

This actually happened to us a long time ago. Turns out the web user (client) had been buddies with our company forever and had been entered in many additional address books and groups. We deleted him and put him back and the problem went away. If this guy falls into the “special friend of my domain since the earth cooled” category, I would try deleting him and putting him back.

That’s the thing. I can’t locate this person in any groups and they are listed in one of our client address books, but I don’t know how when we send email to this name@c-gconsulting.com, has the Router send it to the outside address.
What else can I do?
ThankS!

Check the entry in the address book and see if the user has a forwarding address specified.

Thanks for your response, David. This is the weird part: there is no address book entry that applies to this person. To be more explicit, if I send email to personsname@c-gconsulting.com, it gets forwarded by Domino to an email address of our clients. BUT, there is NO ‘personsname’ in the Domino Directory. That’s how this doesn’t make sense.
