I’m not sure if this is possible? I have a readers field that limits who can view the doc. That works fine. I have 10 people that have editor access to the db. I want all editors to view but only the author to be able to edit these particular docs with the readers field.
The previous designer setup editor access for these people…
You could do this by adding a controlled access section to the form which limits who can edit the fields in that section or by using lotusscript in the QueryModeChange(assuming this is a notes client database) event that sets Continue to False if the user is not the creator of the document and the readers field is populated.
Putting a controlled access section on a form does not effect existing documents until they are saved again so you will need to update existing documents. @Command([ToolsRefreshAllDocs]) should work.
Unless there is a valid reason why these people have editor access I would downgrade their access to author, add a role to the ACL of a database and add them to this role. Add a computed authors field to the form with a formula like
