Edit tables, margins and line breaks

I have a table that has been inserted with a left margin (for the whole table, not the cells) and I don’t know how to change it. If I select the whole table, all cells get the margin and I can’t put the cursor anywhere outside the table.

Question number two.

Inside the table I have fields inside the cells but in some cases there has been a line break inside the cell. How to I remove it? If I use delete while standing on the second line inside the cell the Designer wants to delete the field.

Hi Johannes,

Place the cursor anywhere inside the table and right click to get the table properties. Go to the 5th tab (Table Margins) and change the margins as required.

If you can place the cursor next to the filed, then you can delete the extra space

Paul,When I do that… and set left margin to say .25 or .50" - when the document loads in the form, the bottom scroll bar jumps to 1/2 way across screen… causing form to be OFF screen on the left.

Once you go smaller than 0.750" left margin on a fixed width table you start to get the left shift on create and edit. I corrected my create and edit shift by using a field located in the table that was as far left as possible. Set that field to have focus. That corrected the display problem for me. I also had a read display shift that remained after the above change, it was fixed by moving the left margin of the form above the table to match the table. It was a blank line and hidden fields. Hope this helps.
