I currently have a call in with IBM/Lotus, who are not able to reproduce this. Could anyone who is having this problem please let me know if it only occurs ( or happens more often )in the following situation: When there is more than one attachment with the same file name in the document?

We are currently experiencing similar problems with the ‘edit attachment’, and the changes not saving back. We have created an audit trail to check that the documents are being opened in edit and then closing back, and also to provide evidence that this is a problem. So far it is proving this.

Yes, I have been adding changes to a field each time to prove that the document is being saved, even if the attachment is not. Yesterdays results were that I was always seeing Version x-1, and today on exactly the same document, after doing that for the first 3 saves, it now saves perfectly every time. Lotus have said they will get back to me in 3 days. I’ll post any results I get here.

It appears that my missing changes are (sometimes) appearing in the second attachment, and looking back over documents which have demonstrated this problem, all of them have amendments in the second attachment, which should not be possible as it is in a computed field and the edit button does not appear for it. Does this fit in with other peoples experiences?

Hi Evelyn, I have seen this before, it is because any attachments with the same name actually get stored in the document with a different name, so when you edit that document inline it is confused as to the file it should edit, and so edits the one that has the original name, You can see the file is renamed by looking in the $File field in the document attributes.
