I am seeing quite a few problems with the Notes 8.0.1 Eclipse client when using a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 or higher. They all seem to be related to some sort of refresh rate that is built into the client. I have seen this on multiple PCs. If we lower the screen resolution one notch lower they do not occur.
PROBLEM: In the Day-At-A-Glance sidebar, the monthly calendar at the bottom gradually slides down the screen until it is completely gone.
WORK-AROUND: Drag the calendar back up to where it belongs or close Notes and re-open
PROBLEM: In an Inbox with more than a page worth of e-mail if you use the arrow keys to scroll through, e-mails seem to disappear from view. (See screen shot below)
WORK-AROUND: Close the inbox and re-open, go to t different database tab or wait for Notes to refresh itself
PROBLEM: The notes client jumps. The only way I know to describe this is that the client windows seems to get a twitch at random times. I am assuming that this is the screen doing a refresh, which is causing problems 1 and 2.
WORK-AROUND: Other than lowering the screen resolution, none that I have found
PROBLEM: Scroll bar does not always show up when more than a page of e-mails exists. Have to use arrows to scroll, which can cause the issue in #2 above.
WORK-AROUND: Close mail box tab and reopen.
Has anyone else noticed this? As i mentioned earlier, it is happening on multiple systems. It’s not a particular type or brand on monitor. It’s not a particular model of computer. It has been on both desktops and laptops. The only thing these systems have in common is that they are all running Windows XP Pro and have a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 or higher. As soon as the resolutions is lowered below 1280 x 1024 problems 1,2, and 3 all seem to go away.
Even opened a PMR, and they weren’t able to give me much other than lower the resolution. PMR 18649,227,000
