In the ECL lets say I choose the wrong user type and now I cannot get into the database even as manager. How would I be able to get in and change that? TIA

Are you talking about the ECL or ACL? The acl will control the access to the database while the ECL provides a mechanism for managing whether programs or code should be allowed to execute and what level of access they should be permitted.
If you are refering to the ACL one way around would be to enable Full Access Administration and to access the database. Once database access is granted you will be able to make the changes to the ACL. In order to turn on full access administration you will need to be listed in the Full Access Administrator filed in the server document.
