EasySync Pro 4.2 & Motorola MPX200 Smartphone

Has anyone been succesful getting EasySynce Pro 4.2 to work at synchronizing Notes to a Motorola MPX200 smartphone. The OS is MS Smartphone 2002, which is based on MS CE OS.

Apologies for getting to this thread so late, but the Motorola ‘SmartPhone’ is NOT a Microsoft PocketPC OS device.

Sync software that works with PocketPC (or the new ‘Phone Edition’), will most likely NOT work with the Smartphone devices.

I got this note from the folks at Commontime:

"The Smartphone OS (not to be confused with Pocket PC Phone Edition) is very different from the Pocket PC - having said that we already support Smartphone 2002 and will soon also be supporting Smartphone 2003. Please

ask people to contact us if they are still having problems with these devices - we can get mNotes installed and working for them."

Hope this helps.

I also have the Motorola MPX200 and have had no luck with EasySync.

When I launch EasySync Pro 4.2.1 my phone says

that it is installing the EasySyncPro.cab then the message goes away.

Then I get cannot connect to the device and this is whats in the rsSync.log on with the debug option 5 on:

55:28 Device Type = Windows CE 2.x / Pocket PC

55:28 CE part ver = 0 , PC part ver = 53

55:28 ERROR: CE part ver = 0 , PC part ver = 53

55:48 ERROR: WINCE-GetMachineInfo connection failed

55:48 CRSyncUtil::GetMachineInfo : GetMachineInfo() API failed in translator ‘PocketPC’. Error message : Unable to connect to device. Verify that ActiveSync is running.

ActiveSync is running at the time.

Is this the same error your getting?

This message in the IBM support forum says if the device is running Pocket PC 2003 then this is a known problem and its not supported for some reason.

Maybe the Motorola MPX200 Smartphone is running some flavor of Pocket PC 2003 given the info in the link and whats in the About:

Radio Version 1.00

Hey Mike,

I got in touch with the EasySync development team, and they said that they had no plans currently to support Windows Mobile 2003 at all.

Pretty mind-boggling, given the current industry trends, but that’s what I was told.

Good luck - I gave up and switched over to MS Outlook. It makes things more complicated to collaborate, but at least I can sync easily.

Hi Dave,

The MPX200 is currently running Smartphone 2002. Is that Windows Mobile 2002 and thats not supported as well?

Do you know of any programs that would sync Lotus Notes calendar with MS Outlook calendar?

Thanks,

Mike

Try CommonTime mNotes: http://www.commontime.com/ProductsCadenza.htmI am using Notes R5, but I believe this supports 6 also. They have wonderful responsive support and provide a 30 day evaluation copy of the sw…new license cost $75USD. Their website does not mention supporting the Smartphone 2002 OS but they do, especially on the MPx200. This sw is very easy to use.
