Easy Form for Common Emails?

For lack of a better word, I am looking to create a “macro” (repeatablesteps that I won’t have to type in multiple times).

My objective is:

  1. Want to click on an icon to bring up an Email “form”

  2. The Email “TO” address will always be the same (so would like to have

it default)

  1. The Email subject line will always be the same (so would like to have

it default)

  1. The body of the email will always need the user to enter required

fields. For example:

    "Enter Application number: "

    "Enter Applicant name: "

    etc

Can Lotus do this with “macros” or some other function?

If you don’t know, can you give me a contact Email that I can ask Lotus for

this info?

Thank you, Mark Johnson

You could think of creating a agent to perform this. that seems simple enough.

a few @prompt’s and a @mailsend and you are finished

It sounds like this type of project will evolve into even more requirements so I would stray away from modifying the notes mail template to accomplish this and create a seperate application / database to handle your requirements. This will allow for much more flexibility going forward, ecspecially in an organization as large as yours, getting approval to modify the notes mail template is probably not an option.

As Martin pointed out, a simple form with your required fields, some formula code or lotuscript in a button or agent can accomplish this.

Why not just use Stationery?

Subject: Look up “Creating and using stationery for mail” in Lotus Notes Help.

This should do exactly what you are looking for.

How do you do validation / required fields using stationary?

Subject: True, you can not add “fields” to the stationary, you can add default text.
