I think I’ve found a slight bug with how the dynamic field height works on OS style fields. What I did was create Field1 as an OS style text field on a form. This field has the “Align control’s baseline with paragraph’s” property checked. I set the field’s height to “Dynamic.” I also have a second OS style text field (Field2) directly below Field1 on the form. The two fields stacked directly on top of each other, so I set the top field’s Paragraph spacing to 1 1/2 Below. This added an appropriate amount of vertical space between the two fields.
So when I went to test this out, I added several lines of text to the top field (Field1). As I’m doing this, I notice that the vertical space in between my two fields seems to be getting larger until Field1 hits the dynamic height limit. It looks like Notes has added the extra spacing for EACH line I add to Field1. So I have an extra 1.5 lines of spacing by the time the dynamic field height limit is reached, instead of a consistent .5 line regardless of the size of the dynamic field. Strange.
Anyway, I fixed the problem by setting the paragraph spacing for the dynamic field (Field1) back to single. Then I changed the paragraph spacing for Field2 (the lower field) to 1 1/2 Above. Since Field2 is not dynamic it isn’t affected by this problem. This is definitely unexpected behavior. Can anyone else verify this as a real problem?
