I have just study Domino 7, I am curious to know any one can share with me any sample coding that I can do for the following scenario?
If the current year is 2007, title of column is Budget 2008,
if the current year is 2006, tilte of column in Budget 2007, i.e formula is current year + 1.
I have searched in version 4 and 5 before, but did not came across satisfactory answer, can this be done in Domino 7?
tqvm.
Subject: Dynamic column title
I’ve had a play with this sort of thing. What I have done is write some Lotuscript to run on the QueryOpen event. You can get a handle on the view and set the view’s column titles to whatever you want, as they are read/write properties. Don’t think you can do this in @formula . . .

But not with Queryopen code! No-o-o-o-o-o!!!
What if the user who opens the view doesn’t have Designer access? What if nobody with Designer access opens the view for the first two months after you wanted to make the change?
What if they didn’t have time to wait for the view index to be totally rebuilt because it was just modified?
Use a scheduled agent. Have the agent also rebuild the view.

You’re quite right, Andre. Your comments prompted me to go back to my solution - I had actually implemented it as an agent called by the queryOpen event - I described it incorrectly in my previous post as queryOpen code.
And in retrospect, I agree that using a scheduled agent would be a better implementation, though in this case it didn’t make a significant difference as it’s a small view with a rebuild time of < 5 secs.
But, as always, thanks for your insight!
