DXL - One field export

Hello,

I have a DB with about 10,000 docs. On a specific RTF in all documents I need to find any hotspot that points to a specific url.

For example I need to find all documents in the DB that on a RTF called “Description” contain hotspots that their url property point to “www.ibm.com”.

The NotesRichTextItem class can only give me DocLinks to handle. So my other option is to export the documents to DXL and look for tag and check if it’s href property is www.ibm.com.

This is working fine except that I can not export just the RTF. I need to export the complete document to DXL as the NotesDXLExporter does not accept RTF as input. The problem with that is if the document contains attachments (in our case attachments with more than 10 MB in size), the action takes forever to complete as the exporter exports the attachments as well.

So the question is: is there any way I can export only the field I am interested in with DXL?

With only 10000 documents the easiest solution is to programmatically recreate documents in a temporary database, taking only the richtext field and UniversalID of the original documents. Then you can run DXL export on that temporary database.
