DWA7 and DWA8 not working with IE6 and IE7 but great with Firefox3.03

Hi… im using Domino 7.01 and Domino 8.02 and everything works fine except DWA specifically with IE6 and IE7. Firefox works great. When i open my mail server from my browser on both browsers i get the DWA login form, after i enter the username and password, firefox redirects to the webmail properly but IE does not so anything. The form remains the same. If i put a wrong username and password it shows incorrect username and password. So i know it is authenticating with names.nsf My session authentication is set to single server btw.

Now if i remove session authentication, then a box pop’s up for user authentication when i access the website. Here the credentials are accepted and it goes straight to the mailbox.

What could be my problem? Why won’t IE redirect for either Domino 7.01 or Domino 8.02 with session authentication?

I think that there is some setting in your browser that does not allow enough for the redirecting (although I do not know which setting). Maybe adding the site to your Trusted Sites might be a solution.

Remember, R701 is NOT supported with IE7

Subject: IE7 will not redirect!

Hi,

My IE7 version is 7.0.5730.13

I lowered the IE7 security to the minimum and still no go. It just will not redirect.

I turned off native XMLHTTP support and disable HTTP 1.1 support too. Still no go.

Im really stumped here.

Can anyone help.

Thanks

Subject: Redirect disabled in IE?

Is it possible that you have turned off META-REFRESH ? There’s an option on the security settings tab of IE6 and 7 (Under Miscellaneous, about in the middle of the entire list). The DWA redirector uses a META tag to redirect to the user’s mail file, not a 301 HTTP response

Subject: What happens?

What exactly happens when your users enter their credentials in IE? TN#1096315 (http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&uid=swg21096315) describes an issue with session authentication and underscores in the URL. Can users access their mail files directly, bypassing the redirect?

Thanks Andreas… Domino Server was registered as mail_server and hence the problem. Created a new alias and voila… All good.
