When I log into DWA and look at my contact list it shows two groups and below the goups [Empty]. If I log in to Sametime via Notes client, Connect client, or BlackBerry I see the same list with four groups and several memebers in each. The two groups that DWA display are not the same groups that the other clients display. Any ideas? What DB’s need to be on the DWA server or is it like the contacts I need to synch something.
Subject: iNotes_WA_SametimeJavaConnect is the answer
There is a R6 notes.ini setting iNotes_WA_SametimeJavaConnect= 1 that will use the web connect client instead of the DWA client and you list will share between your DWA client and your desktop client.
For R7 you need to modify a setting in the configuration document “Prefer Sametime Connect for browsers:”.
IF you have people using a mix of R6 and R7 mail templates you have to set both to see consistent behavior.
The contact lists are not synchronized. The Notes/Connect Client contact lists are stored in the vpuserinfo.nsf db on the IM server. The DWA contacts are stored in a profile document in your mail file. You don’t want to mess with these - the contacts are stored in completely different formats in each and are not easy to sync. Lotus should have these use the same list.
Thanks for the answer. I had suspected something like this (and known about vpuserinfo.nsf) but since they provided a methodology for moving contacts between personal address book and DWA I had hoped there was something similar.
