We recently upgraded to Domino 8.0.1 on Solaris 10 in our development environment. After upgrading some of the mailfile templates to the mail8.ntf, I’ve found that when clicking on the To, CC, etc fields in DWA to address a message, the Search In box is empty. Both DWA Full and DWA Lite present the same issue.

Should anyone run into this in the future, it turns out this problem was created by a corrupt Directory profile. IBM provided these steps, and it did indeed resolve my issues:
From the Admin client open names.nsf
Actions|Remove Directory Profile
answer Yes to the dialog box that asks if you’re sure
Quit Server
From the command prompt while server is down (whatever command prompt you need to use for your Solaris Box) Run ncompact.exe names.nsf -c
Start server
you may get a popup that asks you to create a new Directory Profile answer yes if you get this, if you don’t get a prompt, it may be created automatically
if it is created automatically, then open the names.nsf again
Action|Edit Directory Profile document to make sure the entries are correct and then save & close
