DWA 8.0.2 Problem with Custom_Masthead

We have been working on a Custom_Masthead for DWA 8.0.x. We had some good success on creating that in 8.0.1 . It worked on DWA “Full” but not the “Lite”, but that was OK. We recently upgraded the server we were working on to 8.0.2. Again, our changes to the Custom_Masthead was working well on “Full” and we were pleasantly surprised to see our Custom_Masthead showing on the “Lite” as well (apparrently fixed as part of SPR: VSEN7D4TGW). But we realized that our Custom_Masthead was layered on top of the standard controls for “Lite” (like the logo and the Full | Lite | Help | Logout options), making them hidden and unusable.

To us it appears to be a bug in the way Custom_Masthead is implemented on DWA 8.0.2 Lite. Is there a workaround or a fix for this problem?

Support refused to help calling under the reason of “unsupported customization”. But I got an answer on this from a helpful IBM employee I emailed.

Apparently for this to work properly in the “Lite” mode you need to set the height and padding in the Custom_CSS subform using the s-masthead-height and s-masthead-padding settings.
