We have a critical database for which the users use local replicas to create documents and update them since local replica is much faster than working in a server. All the local replicas are medium level encrypted.
Recently, our company has changed all the ID files because of which the users were not able to open the local replicas( Since they are encrypted).
Now that they have created new local replica. Now duplicate documents are getting created. Also, the initial modified date is shown as 1976 for the duplicate documents even though these documents are created in 2007 which is strange. ( The original documents have correct modification year).
Any one have a reason for this! this is much appreciated!!!
Subject: RE: Duplicate documents created during replication
We have the same problem with Lotus Domino 8.5.2 FP3 Server and local replica on Windows XP Client with Lotus Basic 8.5.2 FP1. In our CRM software there is an address book for all customers and interests. A user had replicate his local replica with server and we had now 41.000 documents as duplicate addresses with the modified date 05 july of 1976 at 02:00. On IBM Website you will find the same entry in their fixlist database published on the internet http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/r5fixlist.nsf/Public/C52B513B2B74653B852576AB00478355?OpenDocument .
I did check all prérerences in database their are no deletion stubs they will replicate as new documents. There are all new documents with older information that will be created with the data 1976 as system modified date modified by the server. This case has been at any different customers servers.
I have created a service call at IBM Germany. Excuse my bad English.
These documents are all dated 5th July 1976, Midnight GMT.
Which when converted to any of the USA timezones happens to be the 4th July 1976, which was the date of the US Bicentennial. Not sure if this is significant.
We are using Notes v8.5.2 and Domino v8.5.3. This is a seriously ugly problem and is affecting many databases.
