Dumb question -- what happens to replicas if the main server replica is restored from a backup?

Hi All

This is probably a really dumb question, but I was wondering what happens if you’ve got replicas on note books, and the server gets trashsed and you restore it from say yesterday’s, or older, backup?

For example:

Will the notebooks be rolled back during replication?

Will what ever is new that is on the notebooks update the server?

What happens to deletions?

Thanks

Mohib

Mohib …

In this case, when you connect your notebook to the network and replicate your mails, then the mails from the user’s notebook will get replicated to the user’s mailbox on the server.

Peter,

Could you specify what were the errors you got? One error that I can think of could be due to the difference in the replica ids.

In that case what you can do is create a new replica on the user’s notebook and after the 1st replication is over, you can copy the mails from the old replica to the new one and then start replication once aagin.

This would ensure that you have all the mails on the server as weel as the notebook.
