We’ve noticed that our PC’s runing XP SP2 and with the new DST fix from MS (KB928388), our DWA users are getting the message “Your Time Zone Setting is Different …”.
We’ve looked at the work arounds from IBM’s support site (http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21206991) and applied them where we can (will be activating the server side changes tonight).
Can anyone tell me if this is the case with 7.0.2 as well?
Uninstalling the MS fix for DST isn’t going to be an option.

I have been pulling my hair out all week with this same exact problem. Client is Domino 6.5.4. The workaround from IBM support site is flawed. We’ve been getting this annoying popup error using two new Lenovo laptops at one of my customers. Occurs whenever inotes is opened to the welcome tab. According to the support document, this was fixed in 655 and 701.
We are running 7.0.1 at the shop and after adding the notes ini parameter:
iNotes_WA_UseServerTZSettings=1
and bouncing the server, this still does not work. I still get the same “Your time zone is different…” error, so I doubt that 7.0.2 has this fixed.
We should be able to remove this MS file right?, even if this is a short term fix…??
This would be good to have Lotus Support have a look at, it’s only going to get worse as time goes by and new computers are purchased with all these patches already in place.
Alton, good work. I will see if I have a 7.0.2 server out there that I can try dwa on and post results.

Yeah the hot fix can be removed via the Add Remove control panel.
The client side fix (changing away from the welcome page) seems to work best. I applied the change that does the same thing but on the server configuration document - DWA tab - but it doesn’t appear to have had an affect.

The section about DWA does mention that this will happen when the fix has been applied prior to Notes/Domino being ‘fixed’.
I hadn’t paid too much attention to this section leading up to the end of the year. Now I wish that I had.
Another note – Microsoft apparently will not release an update for Win2000 servers/workstations. They do give manaul procedures in one of thier technotes.

My client removed that hotfix this morning and voila, DWA behaves as it should.
I think I will wait for the updated forms6 and forms7.nsf files instead of trying those hacks, but I’ve saved that information as I’m sure it will be needed over and over until the new nsf’s are out.
I will bring this up with a DWA developer at Lotusphere in a couple weeks and see what is in the works.

Sounds like a plan. I’m going to open an ESR next week and see what kind of canned answer they have for time line on the fixes.
We’ve instructed our help desk to remove the patch when they get calls related to DWA tz message or if someone notices that meeting after Mar 11 and before Apr 4 are an hour off.
We’ll push the patch out before go live for the new rules. We’ve scheduled a meeting to discuss the WIndows 2000 (lack of) patch issue and get a game plan. I’m also planning to go to 7.0.2 FP1 at the end of the month. I doubt that this fixes anything but atleast gets me where I can apply the hacks.

Hello All,
We have been fighting with this for a week now. We applied the first Patch to the forms6.nsf that Lotus recommended that added info to the Custom_JS. That did resolve the issue but apparently it creates other issues with cross calendaring with full Notes clients.
We then tried the new patch to update the qpbase2 form (this was only updated on the 17th of Jan). This fix does correct the problem for users that have applied the MS patch for XP SP2 and XP SP1.
BUT !!! It also creates the popup error message for all your users that have not applied the MS Patch. This is because the fix changes the DST LAW information in the form to be the new standard which will match the patched users operating systems but now not the old systems.
We have opened a PMR with Lotus on this 74853 057 649. I do not forsee a solution being created for this unless enough of us push for it.
