DST and R5 clients

Didn’t see much in the R5 forums on DST. I know R5 support is over but…

I have a client that is a mixture of everything.

After the OS is patched the R5 clients don’t see to use the DSTLAW notes.ini setting - or at least it doesn’t get created in their Notes.ini. There is NOT as USENOTESTIMEZONE either.

Any ideas on what should be done on the Notes Client side for R5 clients?

Does it matter if the R5 clients connect then to a R6 server versus a R5 server?

Subject: DST and R5 clients

The R5 client would need to have the DSTLaw be set manually (or by your own programmatic means) and there are the well documented limitations on being able to process R5 data - see technote1254639 for more info, but the highest level is posted below. Finally, accessing a 6.x server vs. a 5.x server does not make a very large difference in these cases.

Processing R5 documents. Set “ProcessR5” variable to “True” to update R5 mail template created documents. Default is False.

Available in agent version: 3.x, 4.x

Pros: Users do not have to manually reschedule the entries.

Cons:

  • Could inadvertently move entries (see specific details within the section “Agent behavior for R5 created entries”).
  • You must ensure the feature is enabled.
