Hello, I am trying to put together a test where the DSN extension option would kick in. Basically I want to be able to send a message out that would cause a non delivery report to be created and the Domino server pass it back to the original user as a Domino Server NDR report. If I use a SMTP sending tool to a person that does not exist the NDR hits the Domino server and it is passed back through the SMTP communications and not the Server communications.
NOTE: The info here is in reference to a defect that had recently been fixed. This has to do with a virus that spreads over SMTP. The virus connected to the Domino Server and tried to send itself to spoofed To and From email addresses. Some of the From addresses were actual internal email addresses. Domino sent some of the NDR messages back as Notes messages over the Server protocol rather than the SMTP protocol. I just need to know if this option being enabled could have caused this by running a test.
How can a SMTP message bounce back as a NDR report into a Domino Domain and be converted into a Notes message and routed back to a user through the server protocol and not the SMTP protocol?
Anyone have any ideas?
