This question relates to a Domino.Doc server. I could have placed the post in the Domino.Doc forum, but to be honest it doesn’t reall get that many hits, so I wondered if someone could shed some light on downgrading a server on this Forum?
I have just recently upgraded my Domino.Doc/Domino server from 5.0.7 to 6.0.1, but I’m experiencing problems for Domino.Doc users with the 3.5 Desktop Enabler (basically all my users need the Domino.Doc FixPack2 installing)
Because of the problems I’m having, I would like to downgrade the server to 5.0.11. Is this a easy as it seems? To just run the install for 5.0.11?
I didn’t try it myself but you should at least mind the following things:
On Disk Structure
Domino6 uses ODS4.3
Domino5 uses ODS4.1
The administration client shows the versions of all db’s. You should revert to ODS4.1 using Compact -R option (before doing the downgrade!!!) You may have to do system db’s manually.
Full text indexes
Domino6 uses a different FT GTR version
You should re-create all indexes on R5
N&A book (I know… we should call it Domino Directory since R5)
If you didn’t change your Server document after upgrade then you will not have a big problem there. Otherwise you will have to check the internet sites configs (and change them to the R5 method)
Do you have a backup from your R5 server…try using names.nsf from the backup then…
