The subject says it all. You need to fish around the screen to find an area in the e-mail that does not have MIME Part data (somewhere out of the body area) in order for the double right click to close window to work.
Subject: Re: Double Right-Click
Hi Paul,
I know this isn’t an exact match, but there appears to possibly be an issue with that functionality the in the 8.x Codestream.
Lotus Software Knowledge Base Document
Title: ‘Right double-click closes window’ not working in Notes 8 Standard Configuration
Doc #: 1329454
URL: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&uid=swg21329454
From my understanding regarding the issue documented in the Technote above and it’s associated Software Problem Report (SPR) it is being investigated for Release 8.5.1.
I would suggest calling into IBM Support, referencing the TN and SPR, and request that your PMR be added to the SPR to give it more weight so that it will hopefully be fixed in a later release.
Sorry I couldn’t be much more help Paul.
Regards,
-Bob
Subject: i think this is different, try it
send yourself an e-mail from an internet mail account to your lotus notes. when it arrives open it then try to double right click on the body to close it. also, check the body field type to see if it’s “Mime Part” or “Rich Text”. Rich Text give no issues but anything that’s Mime Part doesn’t work.
Subject: Re: Different…
Hi Paul,
That’s interesting. I tested in my 8.0.2HF88 Client and could not reproduce the issue. I am running the Standard All-Client installation as a Basic Client though, so I am not sure if that makes a difference.
The only thing I can think left to do would be to call into Support and test with a Software Engineer. At the very least, they can create a Software Problem Report to document and track the issue.
Sorry I couldn’t be more help Paul…Have a good day!
Regards,
-Bob
