Double Clicking Attachments - File does not exist

Hi all,

I have a problem with openning attachments with the Notes client. Right now we’re testing the 6.0.3 client running on a shared network install (so program files are on file server, and data files are on local disk). Everything seems to work fine except when you try to open an attachment by double clicking on it, it comes up with a “file does not exist” error message. However, you can right click on the attachment and open/view/save/etc it. This problem only occurs on the clients with the network shared installations (desktops), our other clients (laptops) with full installations don’t have this problem. We’re running Domino 6.0.3 with the inotes R6 template for the mail files. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Subject: Double Clicking Attachments - File does not exist

Ok, so I’m posting to my own response. =o) The problem is that when you do a network install with the program files on a shared network server, some of the files get removed/not installed from the program directory. One of these files includes the ninfobox.dll file which is needed to open the Attachment Properties box. Thus you get the “File does not exist” error message. So basically find the file somewhere (in my case a fully installed client), and copy the file to the networked share. This problem was suppose to be fixed in 6.0.3 but I guess it wasn’t. Hope this helps anyone having similar problems.
