When attempting to download the Traveler bootstrap.nts file using IE Mobile on my T-Mobile Shadow I get the error ‘This file cannot be viewed on the device’.
I’ve read that I’d need to register the unknown file extension in the Registry in order for it to be downloaded. Is this true for all Windows Mobile devices or just certain ones like mine? Thanks…

With WM Smartphone (which your Shadow is), you cannot download the nts file by default. We do not want to tell people about doing the registration because manually doing that would be more difficult than manually entering the information that the bootstrap.nts file contains, but the registration will quite possibly work.
For now, we have just been living with the fact that it doesn’t work on Smartphone (it does work with the non-Smartphone (Professional) devices - those with the touch screens).
Other options including the file in some other manner (such as on a PC) and then transferring it using some other manner (beam, ActiveSync, etc.). Those aren’t good options, but they are options.
