Dear friends,
I have performance problems with a big database, so I want to click on the “Don’t maintain unread marks” database property.
The issue is that when this database property is checked then every time I try to open a categorised view in this database by a button that uses “Call notesUIWorkspace.OpenDatabase( server$, file$, view$, key$, false)” or “@Command([OpenView]; ViewName; Key)” then the collapse/expand property messes up. The category arrows look collapsed but the documents are visible under the categories though they should not be.
If I rebuild the view (Shift + F9) then the issue is solved until the next time I open this view again by the script or the formula buttons mentioned above.
Replace Design forces the view categories to behave proberly only the first time the buttons are used.
Any suggestions will be really appreciated.
Thanks

According to me “Dont maintain Unread Marks” has nothing to do with what you are facing.
Disabling this option increases database performance as domino will not care of maintaining how many docs are still unread by the user.
I think the views are corrupted in your database. Try to compact or fixup and then try again.

Thank you for your response.
I have tried your suggestion but I still have the same problem.
Please note that the collapse/expand problem in the categorised views is happening to all the domino applications, all the databases we work on.
I agree that it does not seem to be any connection between them but it always behaves this way.

I have exactly the same problem in a database. I’ve never found the cause or a way to fix it, but I just checked and I am not maintaining unread marks in that database. Hmmmmm. Related? I’ve had the problem in one or two other databases in the past. I’ll have to see if I can remember which databases and check that property.

Note that “NOT maintaining unread marks” means that the database property IS ENABLED…
